Ain't that what they told you?

Dead end job,
it barely pays the bills.
Now you’re gonna sob?
I know how it feels.
You’ve got so much to give,
reach your potential.
That’s not the way you have to live,
what you do is consequential.
It’s up to you whether you wake up
today, tomorrow or in twenty years,
pour the same old tea into a cup,
Look into the empty wall and say cheers.
It’s up to you if you choose to stay
at one spot hoping for a miracle,
to go to the church, all you do is pray.
Your whole life is satirical.
‘You can never succeed.’
Ain’t that what they told you?
And you did what? Agreed?
No wonder why you’re all blue.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Singer, firefighter, actor and so much more.
What are you gonna be when you grow up?
What you put effort into and work for.
So, when will you finally realise?
You can’t reach it unless you want to.
Stop listening to all the lies.
It will take more days, not only two.
Your mind can be your biggest hater,
yelling harsh insults in your face.
Just say talk to you later,
Once you’re not toxic, when you’re in the right place.
‘You’re so naïve.’
Who are these voices you give so much power to?
Trade them for something unique,
for the dreams you pursue.
No more postponing,
No more excuses.
Your dreams won’t be only floating.
In the battle, your enemy loses.
