12. Stop being a quitter.

I didn’t think of this one immediately when I started creating this list/article. It occurred to me much later, but I knew instantly that it had to be mentioned.
I tend to give up very easily. It can be at a new work or with opportunity that I just think that I am not good enough for. (not being good enough, what a loads of bullshit) And most of the time it’s not right and I just listen to my mind overreacting which leads me to quitting. And I have my reasons to believe I am not the only one whose mind might work like this sometimes. I encourage people around me to not give up and go on, to fight but I personally quit so easily thinking there’s nothing I can do about it, that maybe it just isn’t meant to be. Fuck what is and what isn’t meant to be. It’s not about that.
I’ll give you an example from my life. At first, I hated the job I have at the moment. I hated speaking to the people on the phone. I had no idea how to help them with their problems. I went home being really sad and disappointed about the whole thing. I thought I could never figure it out. But now I actually quite like it. I’m not crazy about it but I dare to say I have put my head around it and I am doing in fact pretty good. And I am proud of myself.
Sometimes it simply takes a little more time to figure things out, so you shouldn’t give up right away. You might come to realisation that you regret quitting, but it suddenly is too late to go back, isn’t it? Who knows maybe your life will turn out differently if you stick with something a little longer. You need to truly think about if it’s worth a little bit more trouble and time or not. Some things definitely are, so go ahead, pick up that guitar and practise. Your playing might suck now but that doesn’t mean that you’re meant to give up. If you really want, you can even be a professional guitarist one day and this can apply to any kind of area.
